Waldgeist
About
Nobody has ever described a waldgeist, because nobody has ever seen one. What they describe is the walk out. The path you came in on is not where you left it. The clearing you rested in is now on your left when it should be behind you. The forest is not hostile and nothing attacks, and after the fourth hour of this most people stop being frightened and start being extremely tired, which is the point.

Special Attack
The Wood Rearranges: it does not attack. On each of its turns the terrain behind the party changes - a path closes, a stream appears where none was, the slope reverses. Any creature attempting to leave the wood must save Wis Mind or find itself a hundred paces further in, cooldown 1 round. Grasping Limb: bludgeoning, melee 10 ft, +3 to hit, 1d8+2, used only against those who set fires or cut standing timber.
Special Defense
Everywhere and Nowhere: it cannot be located, targeted or attacked while any part of the wood stands. Attacks strike trees. Ask Leave: a creature that stops walking, states aloud what it wants from the wood and asks permission to pass is granted a clear path, immediately, once. Cutting or burning ends any possibility of that for everyone present.
