Helhest
About
The Helhest is a spectral three-legged horse heard on roads beside graveyards and churches. Its uneven gait announces sickness or death before the pale body appears. The creature may be the ghost of a horse buried alive beneath a foundation or an omen wearing that memory. It rarely hunts without cause, but anyone attempting to ride it is carried toward the nearest place of burial.
