Kushtaka
About
You hear a child crying from the shoreline, or a woman calling your name from the trees, and it is your name, and it is her voice. The kushtaka takes the drowning and the lost, and it does not eat them - it changes them, into more kushtaka, which is why there are so many and why some of them sound like people you buried. Copper turns them. So do dogs. Nobody on that coast travels without one or the other.

Copper and Dogs: any copper object brandished at one, or any dog present and barking, drives it back 30 ft and prevents it using In a Voice You Know that round. Both are common, cheap and known to every local. Takes, Does Not Kill: a creature it drops to 0 HP is not dead. It is taken. The party has some days to get them back and nobody will be able to tell them exactly how long.
