Jabberwock
About
The Jabberwock is a fearsome creature named in an old nonsense poem: jaws that bite, claws that catch, eyes of flame, and motion announced by burbling sound in a dark wood. Its shape remains slightly unresolved, as though language described it before anatomy agreed. It is a hunting beast of impossible silhouette, sudden violence, and one brief opening for a prepared blade.

Traits
Special Attack
Jaws That Bite: piercing, melee 15 ft, +9 to hit, 5d10+7. Claws That Catch: a different target within 15 ft makes a Quick save or becomes held. A successful save avoids the hold. Burbling Approach: at the beginning of each round, every creature that cannot see the Jabberwock makes a Mind save. A failure gives -2 AC against its next attack that round. A successful save avoids the AC penalty.
Special Defense
The Vorpal Moment: a critical roll made with a bladed weapon after the attacker has studied the Jabberwock for 1 full round ignores DR and deals maximum weapon damage.
