Hippopotamus
About
Only the eyes, ears and nostrils show when a hippopotamus watches a river crossing. Beneath them waits a body too heavy for most predators to challenge. It travels below the surface, rises under boats and attacks anything between it and the bank. At night it leaves the river to graze, creating broad paths that become just as dangerous when a startled animal rushes back toward water. A quiet bank is not an empty one.

Traits
Special Attack
River-Jaw Crush: bludgeoning, melee 5 ft, +4 to hit, 2d10+4. A Large or smaller target makes a Tough save; on a failed save, it is held in the hippopotamus's jaws and carried 10 ft toward deeper water. The target or an ally must use a turn and succeed on a Tough save to break the hold.
Special Defense
Territorial Boundary: a hippopotamus stops pursuit once every intruder has left the water and moved at least 30 ft from the bank, unless its young are threatened. Its bulk gives it +2 Tough against attempts to push, drag or overturn it.
