A Ghillie Dhu is a solitary guardian of birch woods, clothed in leaves, moss, and the shadows between pale trunks. It hides from adults but sometimes guides a lost child home by leaving berries, bent grass, and quiet footprints. Axes raised against living birch draw it from concealment with a speed that makes the whole grove appear to move.
