Monster Trove: Things Others Swore They Saw

Aigamuxa

Large

About

It has eyes, and they are on the soles of its feet. To look at anything it must stop, drop forward onto its hands and lift one foot into the air behind it, which it does with the resigned efficiency of a creature that has been doing this its whole life. In the dunes it runs blind in a straight line, checks, corrects and runs again. If you can stay quiet and keep moving sideways it will hunt an empty stretch of sand for an hour.

Special Attack

Blind Charge: it moves in a straight line at speed and attacks anything it collides with. Bludgeoning, melee 5 ft, +4 to hit, 3d6+3. Look: it stops, plants its hands and raises a foot. It cannot move or attack that turn, but it locates every creature within 60 ft precisely, including hidden ones.

Special Defense

Cannot Run and See: while moving or attacking it has Disadvantage, and it cannot change direction in response to any movement it did not detect during its previous Look. It commits to the line it chose and finds out afterward. On any turn it Looks, it neither moves nor attacks. A party that tracks the alternation can stay ahead of it almost indefinitely; a party that does not will be run over in the dark by something that never saw them.
