Monster Trove: Things Others Swore They Saw

Adlet

Large

About

Human from the waist up, dog from the waist down, and the legs are the problem. An adlet runs down a sled team over open ice and is not winded at the end of it. They came from a woman and a dog and there were ten of them, five sent across the sea and five left behind, and the ones left behind are the ones you meet. On flat white ground with no cover there is no outrunning them and everyone in the north knows it.

Special Attack

Run Down: on open ground it closes any distance in a single turn and attacks in the same turn. Bite and Tear: piercing, melee 5 ft, +4 to hit, 2d6+3 (two strikes).

Special Defense

Built for Ice: it is never slowed by snow, ice or cold, and creatures fighting it on that ground do so at Disadvantage unless equipped for it. Broken Ground Stops It: in rock, timber, scree or anywhere that breaks a running line it loses Run Down entirely and fights like any large animal. Getting off the flat is the whole answer.
