Properties
Uses
1d3 charges
Effect
Only wizards and clerics may command it. Each charge arms the rod once its foot is set down, for up to 24 hours. While armed, the first door, gate, portal, rift, summoning circle, or planar arrival that tries to open within 100 feet does not open, and the rod says aloud what tried and from where. A creature forcing a summoning or an arrival through may make a Mind save to come anyway, and the rod is spent either way. It stops one such thing only, then goes dead until another charge is spent, and it cannot shut anything that is already open. The notches close over one by one and the last seals when depleted, leaving a plain rod that no door will ever shut on.
