Tommyknocker
About
A tommyknocker lives behind a working mine face and announces danger with three sharp knocks. Miners who leave a crust of bread hear the warning before rotten timber gives way; miners who mock it hear tapping from the wrong tunnel and lose a shift finding their way back. The spirit is small, soot-black and strong enough to move a wedge or lamp when nobody watches. Its duty belongs to the mine as a place of labor, regardless of which owner currently claims it.

Special Attack
Warning Knock: when stone, timber or machinery within 60 ft is about to fail, every creature that hears the knock gains +2 to its next Quick save against that danger. Hammer Fist: bludgeoning, melee 5 ft, +2 to hit, 1d6+1. False Tapping: one hostile creature within 30 ft makes a Mind save or moves down the wrong passage on its next turn.
Special Defense
A Miner's Share: bread or the first sip of a drink left at the work face prevents the tommyknocker from attacking that shift. It has DR 2 while touching natural stone. Deliberately collapsing a worked tunnel or abandoning trapped miners causes it to pursue the responsible creature until restitution is attempted.
