An Ijiraq is a northern shapeshifter that appears at the edge of vision wearing familiar animal or human forms incorrectly. Its eyes and mouth may sit sideways, or its tracks may change species between steps. It leads travelers away from known ground, especially children and anyone who follows without announcing a destination. Remembering the route becomes difficult while it remains nearby.
