Effect
Only wizards and clerics may read it. Terms of a hundred words or fewer are written above the lines; two parties who each sign of their own will are held to those terms for one year and a day. Neither can act against them, the attempt simply fails to happen, and each knows the instant the other tries. Binds anything that can make a mark, including devils, dragons, and the recently dead. Distance, death, and dispelling do not release either party; only the agreed term ending does.
