The wearer's grip does not fail. Any rope, rung, or ledge that passes through their hands stops a fall of any distance, taking no damage and keeping hold, and no line running at speed can burn through the tarred palms.
About
These heavy canvas gloves have loops of tar-black rope stitched across the palms and fingers, leaving them stiff enough to keep their shape when set down. The tar never quite loses its scent, and the rope fibers seem to tighten around the wearer's grip whenever weight suddenly comes upon them.
