Somebody made this. Bone, driftwood, sinew, hair and a piece of a dead child, assembled in secret at the shoreline, sung over until it moved, and sent into the water after a named person. It has no purpose beyond that name and no life beyond finishing. But the sending is not safe. If the person it was sent for turns out to hold the stronger magic, the tupilaq turns around and goes back the way it came, and it is not confused about whose fault it is.
Special Attack
Sent: it pursues one named creature and attacks no other unless physically prevented, in which case it removes the obstacle with obvious impatience. Assembled Jaws: piercing, melee 5 ft, +3 to hit, 2d6+2, made of teeth that belonged to several different animals.
Special Defense
Turns on the Maker: if its target proves the stronger - resisting three of its attacks, breaking its sending, or simply beating it in open ground - the tupilaq abandons the hunt permanently and sets off to kill whoever made it, and nothing will turn it aside again. The DN should place the maker somewhere the party can reach, and the maker may be standing with them. Unmaking: it can be destroyed for good only by taking it apart and returning each component to where it came from. Reduced to 0 HP by any other means, it reassembles at the next low tide.
