A Tofu-kozo is a child-sized spirit in fine robes and a broad hat, carrying a tray with a single block of decorated tofu. It waits in rain or at empty crossings and offers the food with perfect courtesy. Most encounters are harmless, but accepting without returning the courtesy may leave the eater feverish, lost, or unable to speak above a whisper until dawn.
Special Attack
Offered Tofu: one creature within 10 ft makes a Mind save. On a failure, it accepts the food and becomes weary for 1 hour unless it first offers something in return.
Special Defense
Courtesy Returned: bowing, thanking the spirit, and exchanging a small portion of food ends the encounter. The Tofu-kozo will not attack anyone who has kept the offered tray level.
