Taotie

The taotie is hunger given a face and no body beyond what it has consumed. It enters storehouses, palaces and temples through carved images of itself, then devours food, treasure and finally memory.

Devour Possession: one carried object within 30 ft vanishes into its mouth unless the holder succeeds on a Quick save. If the object is magical, the taotie recovers 3d10 HP. Bottomless Bite: piercing, melee 10 ft, +6 to hit, 4d10+6.

The Face Without a Body: attacks from directly behind ignore DR because the taotie has no true rear body. An empty bowl freely placed before it forces a Mind save; on a failed save it must spend its next turn staring into the bowl and remembering that hunger cannot be filled.
