Surtr is the fire giant who waits with a blazing sword for the final burning of the world. His blazing sword carries an ending meant for gods, landscapes, and stories. Surtr acts when the appointed sequence reaches him. Preventing that sequence, delaying the crossing, or separating him from the sword matters more than surviving repeated blows.
Special Attack
World-Burning Sword: fire and slashing, melee 30 ft, +9 to hit, 5d10+8. Creatures within 15 ft of the target make a Quick save or take 3d10 fire damage. A successful save avoids this additional damage. Ash of the Ending: after World-Burning Sword strikes the same area twice, ash fills a 30 ft radius there. Creatures entering or beginning a round in the ash make Tough saves or become weary. A successful save prevents the weariness.
Special Defense
Not Yet the Ending: proof that a required preceding event has not occurred forces Surtr to make a Mind save. On a failure, he cannot use World-Burning Sword for 1 round.
