A sea snake moves through reefs and weed beds with little effort, surfacing only briefly before returning below. It is reluctant to bite unless trapped in a net, grabbed or pressed against a swimmer, but its venom is built for prey that cannot reach shore. Fishers fear finding one alive among the catch more than seeing it in open water.
Special Attack
Sea Venom: piercing, melee 5 ft, +3 to hit, 1 damage. The target makes a Tough save; on a failed save, it takes 2d8 poison damage and becomes Weary for 1d6 hours.
Special Defense
Water-Bound: on dry ground the snake has AC 9 and -3 Quick. It does not pursue a creature that releases it or moves out of the net, reef pocket or confined water where the encounter began.
