Detection finds nothing to detect, because there is nothing there but the anchor and the anger. Turn undead has no effect; it was never dead.

Crockery off the dresser, the bed moving with somebody in it, stones coming down inside a closed room. What everyone gets wrong is the address. A poltergeist is not attached to the house, it is attached to a person in the house, usually a young one, usually one already having a bad year. Take that person out of the building and the building goes quiet immediately, and the trouble goes with them, and they will not thank you for pointing this out.

    Special Attack

Throw the Room: 30 ft, save Dex Quick, fail save roll 1d6+2 bludgeoning as furniture, crockery and loose stone come off the walls, cooldown 1 round. It has no melee attack and never touches anyone directly.

    Special Defense

Anchored to a Person: it cannot be attacked, banished, dispelled or driven out while its anchor is present, and it takes no damage from anything. Move the Anchor: get the anchored person more than a hundred paces from the building and every effect in that building stops at once. This does not end the poltergeist - it is attached to the person, not the place, and it will begin again around them wherever they go next, usually within a day or two. Clearing a house and solving the problem are two different jobs. Harming the anchor makes it far worse: it doubles the dice on Throw the Room for the rest of the encounter, and the players should be allowed to discover this the hard way.
