A tile-scaled reptile that lies flat against old floor mosaics, indistinguishable from the art until its painted eyes open. It waits to be walked over before it strikes, so the first warning is usually a stiffening leg. Meet its gaze and your body slows, then sets; fail twice and the stone keeps whatever shape it caught you in.
Special Attack
Tile Gaze: petrifying, 30 ft, save Con Tough or slowed/stiffened; second failure before recovery turns the limb/skin to stone for the scene, cooldown 3 rounds. Mosaic Bite: +3 to hit, 3d8+5.
Special Defense
Pattern Camouflage: nearly invisible on decorated floors/walls. Mirrors do not reflect its gaze cleanly; shattered glass grants +2 to hit it. Senses: Thermal Vision (60 ft), Keen Smell.
