The size of a wild ass, cloven-hoofed, with a badger's head and a mouth that opens back to the ears - no teeth in it, just a ridge of bone on each jaw that shears rather than bites. It listens outside settlements for a night or two and learns the names. Then it stands in the dark at the edge of the firelight and calls one, in a voice belonging to somebody in the camp, and waits to see who stands up.
Special Attack
Call by Name: 100 ft, it speaks in the voice of a creature the party knows and calls another by name. Save Wis Mind or that creature must move toward the voice on its next turn. Cooldown 2 rounds. It never uses the same name twice. Shearing Bite: slashing, melee 5 ft, +3 to hit, 2d6+2, and bone gives before it does.
Special Defense
Learned Voices: it can reproduce any voice it has heard for more than a few minutes, exactly, including the dead. Fast Away: it disengages from melee without penalty and outruns anything on two legs. It fights only when the calling has already worked.
