Koschei is a withered ruler who removed his death from his body and hid it inside a needle, inside an egg, inside a duck, inside a hare, inside an iron chest beneath a distant oak. His body can be defeated; his death must be found.
Special Attack
Deathless Blade: slashing and necrotic, melee 5 ft, +6 to hit, 4d8+5, twice each round. Withering Word: one creature within 60 ft makes a Tough save; a failed save takes 4d8 necrotic damage and becomes weary.
Special Defense
Death Somewhere Else: when reduced to 0 HP, Koschei collapses and reforms beside the iron chest at full HP at the next midnight. Breaking the hidden needle destroys him immediately, wherever he is. Holding the egg prevents him from knowingly harming its holder, though he will command others to recover it.
