    A kitsune wears a fox shape, a human shape and any number of stories between them. This one protects travelers from corrupt officials, though it considers embarrassment an essential part of rescue.

    Special Attack

    Foxfire: fire, 60 ft, +4 to hit, 2d8+3. Borrowed Face: one creature within 30 ft makes a Mind save; on a failed save it sees and hears the kitsune as a trusted person for 1d4 rounds.

    Special Defense

    Tails Tell the Truth: its reflection or shadow reveals every tail. A creature that exposes the tails aloud ends Borrowed Face for everyone who hears. The kitsune honors a promise freely made and loses Foxfire until sunrise if it knowingly breaks one.
