    A Jikininki is the cursed spirit of someone whose greed or sacrilege reduced the afterlife to eating corpses. It appears almost human until hunger lengthens its arms and pulls the mouth across the face. The creature haunts burial places, ashamed of what it does but unable to stop while funerary rites remain neglected or treated as business.

    Special Attack

    Corpse Hunger: slashing, melee 5 ft, +6 to hit, 3d8+5. If a corpse lies within 20 ft, the Jikininki may consume part of it and recover 2d8 HP.

    Special Defense

    Rite Without Payment: completing a sincere funeral rite prevents Corpse Hunger and removes its DR. It will not attack a person actively protecting a body for burial.
