Hodag

The lumber camps burned their dead oxen, and something came up out of the smoke carrying seven years of being whipped uphill in the traces. It is bull-shouldered and low, with horns, a row of bony spines down its back, and a temper aimed squarely at working men. It goes for teamsters, for axes, for anything that smells of the yard. Oxen and draft horses are never touched, and the camps that noticed this stopped sleeping near the animals.

Gore and Trample: piercing, melee 5 ft, +3 to hit, 2d6+2. Spine Rake: 10 ft, save Dex Quick, fail save roll 1d8+2 slashing as it backs through a group with its ridge lowered, cooldown 2 rounds.

Grudge: it attacks whoever is carrying a tool, whip, harness or felling axe in preference to any other target, regardless of tactical sense. Spares the Beasts: it will not harm a draft animal, and a creature standing among oxen or horses is attacked at disadvantage as the hodag picks its way through.
