The Helhest is a spectral three-legged horse heard on roads beside graveyards and churches. Its uneven gait announces sickness or death before the pale body appears. The creature may be the ghost of a horse buried alive beneath a foundation or an omen wearing that memory. It rarely hunts without cause, but anyone attempting to ride it is carried toward the nearest place of burial.
Special Attack
Graveward Gallop: the Helhest moves through creatures in a 30 ft line. Each makes a Quick save or takes 2d8 cold damage and becomes weary.
Special Defense
Count the Third Step: a creature that keeps the rhythm of its uneven gait gains +2 Quick against Graveward Gallop. It cannot cross a threshold where a living animal was buried with honor.
