A flat-snouted beast that grazes magical writing off walls, leaving dead runes and crumbling wards behind it. It blunders toward the strongest magic in a room - a scroll, a glyph-trap, a spellbook - and starts to eat. Interrupt its meal and it retches up a line of half-digested symbols that detonate in a spray of unstable magic.
Special Attack
Rune Bite: arcane/piercing, melee, +5 to hit, 2d8+4. Glyph Vomit: 20-ft line of unstable symbols, save Dex Quick or 2d8 arcane and random minor effect, cooldown 3 rounds.
Special Defense
Rune Digestion: +2 to saves vs written spells, wards, scrolls, and glyph traps. Cannot read language; only taste magic. Senses: Night Vision (60 ft).
