    A giant ant is the size of a hound and rarely encountered alone near its nest. Workers follow scent trails with absolute focus while soldiers grip intruders until nestmates arrive.

    Special Attack

    Mandibles: piercing, melee 5 ft, +2 to hit, 1d6+2. A creature hit by two giant ants in the same round is restrained until it wins a Strength Chance Roll or an ally spends a turn pulling it free.

    Special Defense

    Scent Trail: smoke, strong spirits or a flood of water erases the colony trail for 1d4 rounds. Without a trail and more than 60 ft from the nest, an ant must make a Mind save each round or wander away from the fight.
