Gaki

A Gaki is a dead soul narrowed by appetite until almost nothing remains except hunger. Its belly is swollen, its throat impossibly thin, and anything placed in its mouth becomes ash before satisfaction arrives. Some gather near neglected offerings; others follow the scent of wasteful feasts. Feeding one cannot cure it, but sharing food without greed can briefly remind it what nourishment meant.

Ashen Hunger: one creature within 20 ft makes a Tough save or becomes weary and loses the benefit of food or drink until the encounter ends.

Meal Shared Freely: when two living creatures divide their own food with the Gaki and each other, Ashen Hunger ends and its DR becomes 0. It will not attack someone who is genuinely hungry and sharing anyway.
