Charon is the immortal boatman who carries souls across a boundary river toward the destination permitted by death, judgment, and resonance. He serves as a Celestial psychopomp whose office reaches beyond every single afterlife or Lower Realm. His vessel can pass through the Ethereal toward divine afterlives, infernal kingdoms, quiet dead realms, and other destinations. He asks the proper fare because passage without recognition has consequences.

    Special Attack

Oar of Final Passage: bludgeoning and necrotic, melee 10 ft, +8 to hit, 4d10+6. A living target makes a Mind save or its spirit separates from the body until the end of its next turn. During that time the target cannot move its body or make physical attacks, but it can perceive the Ethereal.

    Special Defense

The Office Survives: reducing Charon to 0 HP does not destroy the passage. The attacker must take the oar or strand every waiting soul. Proper fare and a rightful destination prevent Oar of Final Passage.
