A Baku is a dream-eating creature assembled from the familiar parts of several animals: an elephant's trunk, a bear's body, a tiger's paws, and watchful eyes. Sleepers call it to consume nightmares, but calling too often may teach it to eat pleasant dreams, memories, and ambitions as well. It approaches gently and becomes dangerous only after hunger replaces discernment.

    Special Attack

Eat the Dream: one sleeping or frightened creature within 15 ft makes a Mind save. On a failure, the Baku removes the fear but also takes one recent memory until the next safe rest.

    Special Defense

Name What Must Remain: a creature that states one memory aloud before sleeping cannot lose it to Eat the Dream. Sweet incense distracts the Baku and lowers its AC by 2.
