Azuki-arai

An Azuki-arai crouches beside streams after sunset, washing red beans in a basket while singing about whether it should catch and eat the listener. The sound is often heard where no bank is visible, drawing the curious toward deep water or unstable ground. It is a nervous river spirit that frequently flees once someone answers its song without approaching.

Bean-Washing Song: every creature within 30 ft makes a Mind save. On a failure, the creature moves 10 ft toward the nearest water and cannot hear warnings until the end of its next turn.

Answer from Dry Ground: a creature that answers the song aloud without moving becomes immune to it for the encounter. Scattering dry beans across its path forces it to stop and gather them for 1 round.
