An Aqrabuamelu is a scorpion-person stationed at a cosmic mountain, gate, or road the sun uses to pass between worlds. Its human head speaks with solemn intelligence above an armored body, grasping claws, and a tail loaded with celestial venom. It remains at its appointed post and allows the untested to turn back. Travelers are tested for purpose, endurance, and knowledge of what lies beyond the gate.
Special Attack
Sun-Gate Sting: piercing and poison, melee 15 ft, +9 to hit, 4d10+6. A target makes a Tough save or takes 3d8 poison damage and becomes weary.
Special Defense
State the Journey: a traveler who truthfully names destination, purpose, and intended return cannot be attacked until the answer is judged. The Aqrabuamelu loses 2 AC if forced more than 60 ft from its gate.
