    A small brass bell with grey string wound around the crown and the clapper bound in cloth.

    Effect

    The string pays out to 100 feet and can be strung across any passage at any height. Anything that touches or breaks the string rings the bell in the holder's hand alone, through any thickness of wall or stone. Nobody else hears it, including the thing that crossed it.
