Shield
Bonus: +2 AC
When planted, the bearer and one ally behind it have full cover from one direction. Spend 1 charge to stop a charge or ram that would knock it down. The wire snaps when all charges are gone. 1d2 charges A tall standing pavise made from split rails lashed together with wire, rough as a field barrier and broad enough to choke a narrow lane.
Shield
Bonus: +2 AC and +2 to hit and +2 Mind saves against fear
A creature that once fought for the army whose flag is displayed on this shield must make a Mind save each round it can see the targe. On a failure, it cannot attack the bearer. A group of such creatures within 100 feet that fails withdraws instead of advancing. The flag cannot be burned, cut, or removed. Permanent. A round shield covered with a captured standard, its silk stretched taut across the boards. Along one edge, old staple holes still show where the cloth was first fixed.
Shield
Bonus: +1 AC
Spend 1 charge to seal a door or hatch for 10 minutes. It cannot be forced open from the far side with less than 2,000 pounds of force. 1d3 charges A small iron buckler with a heavy hasp bolted across its face, as though a piece of an old door had been turned to war.
Shield
Bonus: +2 AC
The first time an enemy attacks the wielder each combat, it must make a Mind save. On a failure, it hesitates and loses that attack. Spend 1 charge to make the shield bite a melee attacker for 2d6 damage. Its teeth break away as charges are spent. 1d4 charges A shield carved in the likeness of a snarling demon, its open mouth packed with jagged iron teeth.
Shield
Bonus: +3 AC
This shield works only when planted. The bearer and two allies behind it have full cover and may shoot or cast through the slit. No other shield, ward, or protective spell works while it is planted. When carried, it grants no AC. Permanent. A man-high shield of layered oak faced in sheet iron, cut with a narrow eye-level slit and fitted with a small swinging shutter behind it.
